As a beginner in the fandom, I didn’t have any worries about stan this group. I’ve been acknowledged since their “Mansae”, one of the magical songs that brought them became like this. Their concept of each comeback never failed to amaze us, that’s why I want to appreciate it by giving my favorite music video of Seventeen. Disclaimer, I’m not an expert but I’m going to give my short review and it is about my self-opinion. It might look biased so take it as a grain of salt. Correct me if I’m wrong.

  1. Fallin’ Flower

Fallin’ Flower is their 2nd Japanese single. The music video was released on March, 24th 2020. It was my first comeback since I started to give an amount of attention to them. It was and still, the best music video I’ve ever seen. Not gonna lie. The first time I watched this music video, it brings joy and sorrowful at the same time. The visualization at the finest. The art aspects that bring me into their world. It contains so many beautiful ornaments.

This is the kind of song that I love the most. It makes me feel at peace. Their amazing movement that brings more meaningful parts. If you ask me which part that remains iconic, I actually can’t choose. Because in each part they tried to tell us intangible values. But, let's challenging myself. I might say 3 parts always stay on my mind. The first one is when Jun in a supine position in the air, it shows his true beauty, his superior side view. The second one is Hoshi and The8 that dance along with the rhythm, it shows how amazing their skills and how talented they are. The third is when Jeonghan seems like a fallen angel, his body is covered by wings. There’s also a slight light that looks more like thunder. He looks surreal, a true angel.

Not to forget the fashion style that suits them and the concept perfectly, their make up that looks enchanted. My favorite is Joshua’s make up in the thumbnail. Last but not least, the refrain part of the song never failed to give me goosebumps. The song is sung with various types of voices, the Rapp parts combine the vocal part perfectly. It successfully makes my mood every time I listen to.

2. Don’t Wanna Cry

This song is one of my favorite from Seventeen even since before I started to join the bandwagon. Don’t Wanna Cry was released on May 22nd, 2017. Its concept is so melancholically expressing their regrets at the end of a relationship, said Wikipedia and I agree about it. The way their moves talking about how desperate they are feeling towards their own story. Each member had their scenes made it a whole package of sadness. I love the way the music video brought us to any kind of human’s love life. It is presented beautifully. The individual scenes that are served have varieties of tone colors. It brings different perceptions and it’s good.

Their fashion style in this music video is more casual because it represents them as an ordinary human. There’s also one scene where they wear the same costume, in the middle of a desert. My perception says it has a meaning that the thirteen of them gathered in the same vessel of sorrow and shouted out their pain in a bold and loud gesture.

The lyrics are deep. They add various adlibs and the high note they gave us is no kidding. The way Wonwoo’s Rapp followed by other members’ fast choreography seems like show us how they pass their happiness. Their sharp movement whether they sit, stand, or lay down is on point. In the music video, it shows us cool acting skills and performance.

My favorite part is where Mingyu looks at the outside of the door where he let his supposed to be “lover” go. His facial expression told us how he feels lost. Besides that, some members run towards something and it looks like they running for something that is already gone. It feels like they go to an unknown location.

Not to forget to mention how Seventeen manage to sing in mostly high pitch and even the Rapp Line got their singing part and it makes me proud of them. The amount of complex and sync movement they had always make me impressed.

3. HIT

Talking about the powerful song, Seventeen has so many of it. One of my favorite songs that I’ve been listening to for the past 6 months since I came here is HIT. HIT was supposed to be their digital song and included to be one of their full album tracklist, An Ode. The music video was released on August 5th, 2019. This song can carry out the hypertension of our young spirit. It told us to be persistent people about our dream. HIT contains positive energy inside the lyrics. “The world is our pride of pride,” is one of the sentences that shows us their youth energy to have an eagerness for working harder.

Now about the instrument, it sounds more like pop, k-pop and the rest is EDM, I guess? HIT is so ear-catching. The way it instrument bumps every time the song start always makes me wanna move my body. They successfully brought a brilliant idea for the choreography. The original choreography was way more complex and difficult with so many details to follow. But not gonna lie, the fixed choreography is not easy either. They mostly display jumping and running movements and it's breathtaking.

I love the way HIT music video split each member into specific scenes. Their visual gems shocked us during watch this music video and also members’ side image that dazzling. Based on my observation, the music video often uses a silhouette effect for some snapshots. Group bounding makes the video bold and attractive. You can watch it on the bridge part, the members standing above a box and it shows their shadows.

I have my favorite part in this music video which is the bridge part that I’ve mentioned before, the second one is an individual scene where Jeonghan and The8’s visuals shot from below and it shows sun exposure. The part where Joshua floating on the water is so impressive, and last but not least the part that I’ve put in this first paragraph where the members are floating in the air consecutively. I almost forget to mention how amazing the slow-motion that they use in this music video.

Jump into my last sentence, I’m going to talk about their outfit. They wear fit in suits that make them look glamour, attractive, and breathtaking, and in some parts, they use casual more like edgy style, maybe? It makes them look like a teenage gangster and it’s good.

I’m sure this one is going to be the last sentence. I hope more and more people recognize their artwork, talents, and good personality. Because I can say that they are worth to stan. Anyway, thank you for giving attention to this amateur article that I made. I hope I can show you more about the amazing stuff.
